Long story short, my central AC compressor went out last July on probably some of the hottest weeks of the year. While there was probably no way to prevent this on a 20 year old unit, Sense helped my troubleshoot the issue and to get a technician in as soon as possible to replace my whole HVAC system.

When troubleshooting this issue with my Central AC I opened up my Sense app to see if the compressor for my AC was turning on. On my outside unit the fan was turning on and everything looked to be working, but I didn’t see the spike in energy that the compressor makes. This probably saved me weeks living in a hot house and getting this HVAC system replaced.
